  • The Shikshapatri was written in the Hari Mandap

    Shlok 211
  • The first 10 Shlokas, provides the reader with
a introduction to the Shikshapatri and therefore
is the very essence of what the Shikshapatri is
    and its objective.
  • Lord Swaminarayan, in this first Shloka
performs Manglacharan of Lord Shree Krishna. He
meditates on the very form of Lord Shree

  • The term Krishna in Sanskrit has the literal
meaning of "black" or "dark", and is used as a
name to describe someone with a dark skin
    complexion. The Brahma Samhita describes

  • Radhikaji is one of the staunchest devotees of
Lord Shree Krishna, she is also one of many
    Krishnas gopis.
  • When Radhikaji is by the side of Lord Shree
Krishna the Murti is known as that of Shree Radha
    Krishna.
  • The Padma Purana describes 18,000 cowherd-girls
(gopis) among whom it says 108 are the most
important. Among those 108, 8 are considered more
important still, and among these 8, 2 have a
special position - Candravali and Radharani.
Between the two, the Padma Purana tells us that
Sri Radha is the foremost and without Her
presence no one of the other gopis can really
    satisfy Krishna.
  • In the Bhagavata Purana, Candravali herself
admits the above to be the truth.
