  • The Twilight zone is the middle zone in the
    ocean.
  • Some life is here like, Squid and Octopus.
  • This zone reaches from 650 to 3,300ft.
  • About 97 of the ocean is in this zone.

The Dark Zone
  • The Dark Zone is the lowest zone in the ocean.
  • It stretches from 3.300ft to 36,000ft below.
  • There are smokers and vents that provide life for
the creatures that live down there.
  • It is called Dark zone because it is always dark
    down there.

Mid-Ocean Ridges

    rock.
  • Most ridges run through a lot of major oceans.
  • One mid-ocean ridge runs for 46,000 miles.

Smokers and Vents
  • A smoker is a vent down at the real sea floor
where very hot water and other chemicals pour
    out.
  • Watch out this type of water can be up to 750
    degrees.
  • Shrimp are common here because they love to feed
on all the bacteria that lives on these smokers.

7
Submersibles and ROVs
  • A lot of explorers try to explore down in the
deep but the journey is dangerous.
  • So they send Submersibles so they dont get hurt.
  • A Submersible or an ROV is a mini sub that takes
pictures to help people learn more about the
