• Approximately 25,000 reservists across Canada,
  including 4,000 Canadian Rangers

About the Reserve Force

• Primary role is the augmentation, sustainment,
  and support of deployed forces
• Members engaged on part-time basis, but may
  volunteer for full-time duty
• Include professionals, students, civil servants,
  labourers, business people, academics and former
  members of the Regular Force

Did you know?

• Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs) are
  crewed by Reservists.
• More and more Reservists are supporting
  operations, and they make up a part of every
  mission.
• In 2006, Reservists made up approximately 12 of
  Canadas forces in Afghanistan.
