255. National Advisory Group (NAG)
26Second National CIL Meeting
- Points Raised by CIL Representatives
- We need terms of reference
- Comprising? Health boards, Comhairle, DFI, ADM,
PwDI, NDA it will need some binding agent - Positively This offers the opportunity to share
the independent living philosophy with agencies
and organisations - Personnel involved should be at a senior level,
relevant to the work of CILs and be able to
achieve a balance possibly at least
mid-management level. - The CILs would advise as to need from committee
members to relay to their organisations or
agencies. - We need CIL friendly nominees who would be
supportive - Power balance focus on the needs of CIL and the
independent living philosophy
27Second National CIL Meeting contd.
- Points Raised
- How to communicate
- Check back with the broader CIL community
- How do CILs feed in?
- Structures are necessary
- Why are there only 3 CILs represented? How many
members are appropriate for the committee? - There seems to be a bit of a Big Brother aspect
to the committee - Are there different philosophies among the
different CILs? - Is there really a need for this committee or will
it be only a talking shop?
