1917 From day one Woman supported their Lion
partners Lions objectives. 1975 Lioness Clubs
were formed of the Womens Auxiliary members,
other women could join, including singles
men. 1987 Women were invited to become Lions.

16The LCI Family InitiativeFamily Dues Structure
- Who qualifies for the family dues structure? The
family dues rate applies to Lions in and/or
joining the same club living in the same
household related by birth, marriage and other
legal means, including such common family
relations as parents, children, spouses,
aunts/uncles, cousins, grandparents and in-laws
of spouses. - How does it work? The first family member will be
required to pay the full International Dues with
up to four more qualifying family members
eligible to each pay one-half of the
International Dues.
17Family Dues Structure
- Does the family dues rate apply to existing
members? Yes, as long as they qualify, see your
club secretary. - What sort of voting rights do family members get?
Each member has a vote on club matters and each
one would be counted as individual delegates. - When will it be implemented? The Family
Membership Dues rate will take effect on 1
January 2007, for those Lions that are certified
as family members by 30 November 2006.

- INFORM COMMUNICATE
- Provide all new Lions with a copy of your club by
Laws, newsletters etc, this is just common sense
and courtesy. - Explain the priorities Family, work, then your
Lions. - Encourage PARTICIPATION with inter-club visits,
Zone meetings, Conventions, projects, meet more
Lions family members, involve them fully. - Utilise Project Refresh, Lions Awareness,
Mentoring guide Membership Tools - HAVE FUN as you serve

- Remember your obligation as a sponsor.
- Inform ALL members of your Lions Family whats
going on in your area and not just a selective
audience. - Maintain strong ties with Lioness Clubs
