• Autobahn is a federal motorway in Germany
• Recommended speed is 81 mph, but there is not
  really a speed limit
• Is restricted to cars and motorcycles
• Built to connect regions in Germany to make
  traveling easier

United Kingdom

• Chunnel or Eurotunnel is an undersea tunnel
  connecting the United Kingdom to France
• This tunnel has improved transportation between
  the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe
• Vehicles, Commercial Freight Trains, and Eurostar
  Passenger trains can use.

Iceland
Blue Lagoon (P 348)
The lagoon is man made. It was created by run-off
from the power plant (pictured), which pumps up
the heated water from a mile below the surface.
After being used to generate both heat and
electricity, the excess (which is absolutely
clean) is ejected into the lagoon. 

• Geothermal Heating Heat from inside the Earth
  fuel hot springs and geysers. Steam is channeled
  into pipes and distributed to homes for cleaner
  heating and less pollution too!

• Chernobyl A nuclear power plant exploded
  releasing huge amounts of radiation into the air
  destroying millions of acres of forest and ruined
  the soil.

• A bridge was built to connect two cities, Buda
  and Pest to form one city, Budapest

• In 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, the
  first artificial satellite in space which
  contributed to space research
• Russian scientists now work on the International
  Space Station
• Space exploration has led to satellite technology
  GPS, TV, Cell Phones, Weather Studies
• Pollution problems - Factories and development
  release toxins into the air, land, and water.

Siberia

• The Trans-Siberian Railroad connects Moscow
  to Vladivostok in Siberia and is the longest
  single rail line in the world.
• This railroad transports people and resources.
