European View of the today World Economy
3 and World Population
4Ku-Hyun JUNG views Europe as the real US
challenger not China
Outlook for the Change in Global Economic
Leadership in 2030
4
52- From the EU Westphalien View to
6 to the India Inc. Superpower or tripolar
View
73- Some strong arguments in favor of the Indias
pessimistic view on EU/Europea) From the
Enlarged Integrated Europe.
8. To a Westphalian/fragmented Economic
Political Micro/Macro Management
9b) And a stagnant Economic Growth combined with
an ageing and declining population- not so
appealing!
10b) And a stagnant Economic Growth combined with
an ageing and declining population- not so
appealing!
114- Also some arguments in favor of the EU
pessimistic vision of Indiaa) What economic
scales in 2025?
12b) What matters is Productivity, Size TIME!
13c) And Education is a major parameter
14d) Perception of instability Possible Paths
Scenarios for India Middle Path or Unfine
Balance ?
15e) Last, difficult to buy the BRICs or CHINDIA
stories Fallacy of composition behind
these aggregates
16II- EU-India cooperation in the brave New
World1- The New Comers in Human capitalChina
India and Africa ( World population 1950-2050)
17 more so within the 15-24 age group
18Most probably a Multipolar World GDP Population
192- Major Reasons Fields of Cooperation
1- Multipolar World means building up of strong
and stable coalitions India and EU may appear
weak unless they join efforts
- 2- They have 3 main reasons for cooperation in
the global arena - Social-democratic type of political and social
institutions - Mixed economy institutions
- Weak military Hard Power Versus Strong Soft
Power
- 3- They have 4 main fields of Cooperation in the
global arena - A New Economic Architecture including
Monetary/Financial - and IMF/WB reforms with much more power to the
newcomers - b) The agenda for a Sustainable Development
(Climate change, - Water, urbanisation)
- c) Preserve and Extend the Democratic
institutions Worldwide - d) Promoting the New Technological Revolution
nanotech,biotech, IT etc.,
203- Why India is so relevant for Europe?
1- India see Europe as a Continent alike her, in
particular Busines India. So she can pull
Europeans out of their Westphalien mindset
2- The new paradigms of the XXI Century should
largely take place in India (the Nano
effect,Generic drugs, IT services ) when Europe
still follow the First and Second industrial
Revolution
3- The social and political experience of the
Multilayer India may bring some fruitful
lessons for the top-down construction of EU
4- The big success of the Indian offshore
services can definitely be one key for the ageing
Europe. Just open your eyes and your mind!
5- The Young and Entrepreneurial India could be
part of the solution for Many highly efficient
SMEs but with ageing captains
214- Why Europe legacy can be useful for some
challenges facing India ?
1- Urbanisation the bad and good experiences of
Europe may help not repeating the same
mistakes
2- Transport systems nobody can avoid the
infinite demand for individual mobility
3- Administrative Fiscal Reforms may be the
Indias key to success (VAT, local taxes,
efficient public services )
4- Technology still Europe very strong and
advanced in many fondamental research fields
large window of opportunity in the application
fieldsneed for a major RD cooperation between
EU India
22Conclusion not only What but How to do?
The implementation and delivery mechanisms
1- Dont expect in both cases impulse and
delivery only from the Top EU commission
and Federal Gov in Delhi have the same
limitations At least get them working
together much more effectively on global issues
2- Decentralised cooperation with already
existing European Pan Indian networks
should work perfectly they are plenty.
3- The Young Generations of both sides are the
driving forces providing they get the resources
and mostly the attention
4- Business communities and civil societies
should be the most active on the Euro-India
cooperation
23Conclusion (2) The experience of the EIEBG
