Will computers replace teachers?

• The fear is sometimes expressed that technology
  will make teachers redundant, and that pupils
  will lose the skills of social interaction as
  they become more and more isolated in their own
  little cyber-world. Computer-aided learning
  packages have many advantages
• Students can work at their own pace, repeating
  sections they dont understand
• Computers are endlessly patient
• The material is presented in a consistent way
  you are not dependent on the skills of a
  particular teacher
• Once the package is paid for, it can be
  cost-effective as fewer teachers are required
• At the same time, there are disadvantages in this
  method of learning. It can be very boring sitting
  in front of a computer screen, and a computer may
  not motivate students in the same way as a good
  teacher.
