3After Thesis Review

n - You should have approximately 3 months full-time
to go before submission - Talk with advisors about people who shouldnt be
your thesis assessor - Keep in mind fee cut-off dates to submit and not
pay tuition fees (7 April for Sem 1, 7 September
for Sem 2) - Follow instructions for format and layout of
thesis - Use preliminary pages template

eSpace - Sign off on the thesis submission and nomination
of assessors form - Be aware if a confidential assessment is required
- Consider requesting an oral thesis assessment
- Check your field of study description is accurate
5Thesis Assessment

s - Note that the thesis assessment process usually
takes at least 3 to 4 months - Dean makes decision on assessors reports and
asks you to make corrections - The corrections process usually takes at least 1
to 2 months, and can take much longer - Follow the instructions to upload your corrected
thesis and list of corrections to eSpace
6Graduation
- Degree conferred by letter after you submit
corrected copies of thesis for printing - You have the degree from when letter is sent
- Ask in Student Centre for Graduations to prepare
your certificate 3- 4 days later - You can attend a December 2009 graduation
ceremony if your award is conferred by Thursday 3
December 2009 - Optional to attend Graduation Ceremony
- If You dont attend certificate transcript
will get posted -

7If you attend a Ceremony
- Academic Dress required (pre-booking essential)
only cost - Collect academic dress assemble 90 minutes
before - Ceremonies take 90 minutes
- Light refreshments provided afterwards
- Photographers on site (optional)
- May attend ceremony here and overseas see

8Tickets for Ceremony
- 4 FREE guest tickets you dont need one!
- Collect guest tickets from foyer of UQ Centre
- Tell Graduations if people coming from overseas
- To check for extra tickets, see Latest Notices
section on Graduations website in days before the
ceremony - You will be contacted and advised about
availability of extra tickets
9Academic Dress
- Hire or buy academic dress
- Handout with web address

10Name on UQ Degree
- UQ uses the same name as on your original
application - To correct or change your name
- Use the Graduation Application Form if informal
or - Advise Student Centre at least 1 month before
graduation - Take official evidence (e.g. passport, marriage
certificate)
11Degree Certificate / Transcript
- You get one FREE official academic transcript
(record) and degree certificate - If attending ceremony in Australia
- Given at ceremony

mySI-net) - Surface Mail to Australian address (if thats on

- A friend can collect your academic transcript or
the Letter of Completion from the Student Centre,
but needs your written authorization - Apostilles prepared can be requested after you
