• Students should be able to
• Distinguish between the following a search
  engine, a directory, and a meta search engine and
  know how and when to use each one.
• Define some of the most common internet terms
• Familiarise students with browsing different web
  sites and searching for specific information
• Find out what the internet can do for its users
• Determine the above by using two different media
  computers and books
• Apply the searching skills and Boolean strategies
  learned in INL212 to each of your searches.
• Analyse this new knowledge and synthesize it to
  develop your own product.
• Internalise skills so learners can apply them
  independently.

  following search engines, directories/reviews
  and meta search engines. Record this in a table
  in a word processing program.
• 2. Go to a search engine of your choice.
  Formulate a query to retrieve information on
  internet jargon. Then choose five specific terms
  that interest you, and write out a description
  for each. Record this in a table in a word
  processing
• program.
• 3. Use any search engine or directory to learn
  something new about the favourite hobby of one of
  your group members.
• Record this in a table in a word processing
  program.
• 4. Name five things you can do on the Internet.
