What is a Fire Safety House?

• It is a mobile class room, that looks like a
  single family home.
• It is a safe, hands-on educational tool for
  children and adults.

The interior

• A living room with a fireplace, teaching the
  hazard of the fireplace and safe exit.
• The kitchen includes appliances to help children
  identify hazards found in the kitchen.
• The childs bedroom will have a bed decorated
  with firefighter bedspread, toys, dolls and other
  items, teaching safe exit

The Fire Safety House gives visitors a chance to
safely experience a simulated house fire in a
controlled environment.

Fire Facts

• Latest fire death figures show that nearly 4,266
  people died in fires in the U.S. (1992-2001)
• 80 of those killed by fire die in a single
  family dwelling.
• 9 of 10 victims of home fires are dead before the
  Fire Dept. is even called.
• 1 of every 5 fatal victims of home fires in the
  U.S. is a child under the age of 6 years old
