From the desk of our DOM
Our mission as your association is to assist our
churches. One of the things that I hear, as I
visit our churches and talk with pastors, is a
need for leaders. We are responding to that need
by providing a Leadership Training Conference.
The conference will be on Monday, October 26,
630-900 P.M. at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church.
I hope that your church will take advantage of
this opportunity to get some quality training.
This conference is designed for veteran workers
as well as potential leaders or those who might
be interested in a particular area. I look
forward to seeing you on October 26th. Jim

Notes from the Ministry Center Do you sometimes
feel like you are beating your head against a
wall? There are days that I feel that way. My
husband says that I am so hard headed, I probably
dont feel any pain. But even those of us who
are strong willed can become discouraged. A
wonderful pastor in Floyd County, Hoyt Coker,
once told me the devils super wedge in the life
of the Christian is discouragement. When you
feel discouraged and defeated, just know that
Jesus Christ has won the victory for you and me.
Through His death, burial and resurrection, He
defeated discouragement and gave us hope. That
is the message that we strive to tell to all who
walk through our doors. Please pray this month
for all who come to us for help. They are
fighting the devils super wedge every day. Pray
that when they leave the ministry center, they
will feel encouraged because Jesus Christ loves
them! For Kingdom Work, Brenda Gail
