Title: The Actipidos Sxe Dossier Patient Solution

1
The Actipidos Sxe Dossier Patient Solution
  • Actipidos SXe Dossier Patient
  • Expression of needs
  • The need today for real time integration and
access to exhaustive patient data underlies an
efficient management in terms of both cost and
improvement of the quality of treatment.
  • As the requirement to optimise running becomes
more and more critical, hospitals have to
rationalize their resources by seeking global
software solutions, adaptable to their needs,
compatible with existing systems and open to
    future evolution.
  • Moreover, these systems must be focused on the
patient history and integrate and track all
    aspects of care and treatment.
  • In order to best fulfill the functional needs of
patient records, SPACEBEL Medical proposes an
integrated solution, based on an innovative and
mature product "ACTIPIDOS SXe, Dossier Patient
    ".

The Actipidos Sxe Dossier Patient Solution
  • Shared Patient File Solution
  • Actipidos SXe, Dossier Patient  is a
communicative and integrated solution, centred on
the medical records of the patient and
treatments, accessible to multiple users at
    multiple locations, including the patients
    bedside.
  • With its functions for patient identification,
    management of previous history, diagnosis,
reports, mails and speciality files, "Actipidos
SXe, Dossier Patient "  is the ideal
    computer-based system for "medical
administration", typically used by doctors and
    medical secretaries.
  • With its functions for scheduling, prescription,
    management of appointments, treatments,
procedures and its mobility, "Actipidos SXe,
Dossier Patient" is the ideal computer-based
system for the healthcare team, typically
operated by doctors and medical staff.

The Actipidos Sxe Dossier Patient Solution
  • Communication and integration platform
  • "Actipidos SXe, Dossier Patient  is not an
independant system isolated from existing systems
    installed in the hospital.
  • On the contrary, it is designed to exchange data
with existing systems and to enhance the
    efficiency of this collaboration.
  • It connects to the existing administrative
system,  SIM  applications and pharmacy and
    appointment management, through the hospital
    network and relevant interfaces.

  • Strengths of Actipidos Sxe
  • ? Connectivity
  • ? Ergonomy
  • ? Mobility
  • ? Modularity

5
Software Architecture
  • The software part of  Actipidos SXE, Dossier
  • Patient  is decomposed as follows
  • Client software
  • - Functional modules
  • - Service modules
  • which sit around the client kernal
  • Actipidos SXe, Dossier Patient,
  • Server Actipidos SXe,Dossier Patient
  • - Communication server
  • - Database server

6
Physical Architecture
  • A client server architecture is implemented on
    LAN and WLAN network.
  • The architecture of the system is organised
around an Oracle Sybase database server or SQL
Server under Unix or NT containing the central
database and an NT server integrated or separate
from the application servers, Intranet of results
and history and the communications platform of
    Actipidos SXe, Dossier Patient.
  • Actipidos SXe, Dossier Patient may be installed
either in configuration heavy clients , or in
configuration  light clients, under Windows NT,
2000, 98 or 95. A mixture of light and heavy
    clients is possible.
  • The principal difference between the heavy
client and the light client lies in the fact that
in light clients, the client process runs on one
or many servers of the centralised terminals
whereas in a heavy client, the client process
runs directly on the client terminal.
  • This configuration, although to the detriment
of certain ergonomic conditions, gives the best
response times at the level of the mobile
    stations and greatly simplifies the
    infrastructure management.

Physical Architecture

Physical Architecture
  • Client terminals
  • Client terminals run Windows NT or Windows
    95/98.
  • Mobile stations
  • Regardless of the client configuration, light or
heavy, the mobile stations are electronic slates
sometimes known as tablets or pen based
    computers.
  • Fixed stations
  • The fixed stations are standard PCs running
under Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT. They offer
the same functionalities as the mobile stations
but use keyboard and mouse in place of a pen.
  • It should be noted that it is always possible to
add a pen and tablet to the fixed stations
allowing the same ease of use that the pen gives
    on the mobile stations.

9
Physical Architecture
  • local network
  • Physical Network
  • The implemetation of the proposed solution
relies on the cabling network of the hospital.
This network is expected to be existing and to be
correctly dimensioned in terms of coverage,
access and speed. It supports the protocol
TCP/IP. The use of Ethernet 10BT at the level of
    the services is advised.
  • Wire less network
  • A wire less network is used to connect the
    mobile computers.
  • It can be considered as an extension to the
cable network, to which it is connected in a
transparent manner. It comprises mobile stations
    and fixed access points.

10
The pen based computer
  • The pen
  • The most simple tool to exchange information.
However, it does not allow access to large
    quantities of information.
  • The computer
  • The tool which brings to your door a world of
unlimited information. However it takes a long
time to master and use is static.
  • Pen based computer
  • An ergonomic tool, which allows you to benefit
from the joint advantages of pen and computer .
  • With the help of pen you quickly enter the
instructions relative to the care, write some
notes on a plan, get an authorising signature.
