Do you know where the grasslands are located?
Grasslands are located in Africa, Asia,
Australia, South America, and North America.
Grasslands in North America are located in Iowa,
Kansas, Mexico, and Canada.

Characteristics
Did you know that in the grasslands the main
plants are wheat, grass, pasque, prairie lily,
and rosa? A grassland is home to eagles, bobcats,
snakes, and scorpions. The climate is usually
humid, 59 F degree.

Did you know that in 1930 a Dust Bowl destroyed
hundreds of farms and lasted until 1939? A Dust
Bowl is a gust of wind that swoops up houses,
trees, and lots of dirt. The Dust Bowl is similar
to a tornado. The Dust Bowl started from a
drought. Due to the drought the soil dried out
and turned to dust. The dust blew away and formed
dark clouds. This left 500,000 Americans
homeless. The Dust Bowl is also known as the The
Dirty Thirties. The Dust Bowl happened during
The Great Depression and caused the depression
to linger.

depending on the weather. For example, they wear
jackets on cold days and short sleeves in the hot

horses, cattle, wagons, and donkeys.
