ROLE OF TRADE UNIONS IN PROGRESS
  • Start with the needs of the trade unions in the 5
    areas of action of Progress (for the project to
    be a tool, not an objective)
  • Make the most of the opportunities for
    negotiation
  • Use the opportunities for social dialogue EU
  • National
  • Encourage cooperation among the various trade
    union departments
  • Use the research and training centres of the
    trade unions (as well as of universities and
    other centres)
  • Concentrate on utilising and spreading the
    results, while attempting to make some elements
    of the project structural and continuous, through
    the involvement of local and national
    institutions, the tools of the ESF, of other
    partners.

    credit sector in times of globalisation,
    determine the factors that can promote
    flexibility without job insecurity.

    country (organisation of labour, collective
    bargaining, standards and laws, role of
    vocational and continuing training)
  • 2) Final seminar (Rome 26-28 March 2007)

  • - Achieve continuous areas of synergy among
    those actively involved in anti-discrimination
    work, using good practices
  • - Promote the implementation of national and
    Community anti-discrimination legislation

  • Stages
  • 1) Identifying the parties (public, private,
    trade union, NGO) working against discrimination
    on the same territory (of the 6 Italian regions)
  • 2) Creation of an informal network for each
    territory
  • 3) Training for the network members
  • 4) Revelation of acts of discrimination and
    creation of a data bank
  • 5) Assumption of responsibility for the most
    serious cases by each network (legal service,
    newsletter, etc.)
  • 6) Creation of a stable network on each
    territory based on sharing a common map
  • - synergy of the activities of different
    offices
  • - planning a common intervention strategy
  • - cooperating in spreading information and
    results
  • - common commitment to the continuous
    promotion of the institutions
