SUGGESTIONS
  • Communication tool to promote GTR to countries
    non-CP of UNECE
  • NG to refer to GTS2000 due to the various changes
    occurred mainly to FMVSS
  • Priority on sidewall markings harmonization
  • Select the best regulatory practice most
    appropriate standard (engineering, physical and
scientific point-of-view, related to real world
    performance and validated)
  • For approval of a world class tyre
  • Economical evaluation in case of specific
    requirement (world class vs regional
    requirements)
  • Table of recognition with acceptance of test
methods by Countries (no need for supplementary
    markings)
  • Define precisely the tyre type vs vehicle type
(ref. SR1 vehicle mass and categories
    harmonization of UNECE WP.29)

6
INTRODUCTION
  • The Tyre Industry, in order to be a global player
in the global market, currently is required to
comply with a number of different national or
even regional requirements that exist across the
global market and which add cost, leadtime and
    complexity to tyres.

7
SCOPE
  • The objective of the GTR is to establish
    harmonized requirements for geometric dimensions,
    marking, performance, testing procedures ?and
selection and fitting? of new pneumatic tyres
which are primarily designed for use on the road
    ?insert vehicle category?.
