2Motivation 1)
Constructing consistent massive gravity in AdS4
is extremely easy
Add conformal field w/ transparent boundary

(Porrati 01)
This model is covariant and has UV completion
Karch Randall model (1 brane)
Well find exact soln for a Domain Wall, dressed

(Karch-Randall) 2) BH evaporation into strongly
coupled CFTs ? CFT-particle creation by Moving
Mirrors (quantum screening of DWs
in AdS) ? Cosmic Strings in AdS gravity
(classical screening) ? Conclusions
4Motivation 2)

42Cosmic Strings in AdS gravity
Relativistic (pure-tension) codim-2 brane. In
thin wall limit,
produce conical singularity
Usually (eg,in asymptotically Flat space)
this also modifies global
structure of spacetime.

48Conclusions
- CFT particle creation by DW in AdS is very
illustrative graviton mass shows up in
the pattern of screening plasma
screens in equilibrium with the DW
relation between boundary
conditions / vacuum state
weak and strong coupling results
comparable, as expected
Bootstrap DWs are strong evidence for
cutoff AdS/CFT - AdS4 BH counter-example is inconclusive
- Holographic picture of BHevaporation? it comes
in bursts? - Radiation from DWs is dual to CSs producing
tidal forces - AdS gravity displays screening for codimension 2
sources (deficit angle ? Weyl curv). Is this
specific to AdS ?
