Outline
  • Tapia aproaches me about idea
  • Treat project as art, I treat the media as a
    collection of found materials
  • Intended audience are the car show enthusiasts
  • The found materials just happen to be a collage
    of 70s photos, a 1970 Chevelle, and the Navier
    Stoke partial differential equations.
  • Found equations and solver in the ME dept. (tell
    about what I used to do with the software) but
    became more interested with what it could do as
    far as creating visual effects and the abstract
    sense it creates while maintaining a sense of
    realism
  • I map contour drawings into boundary equations
    along with physical constraints that I thought
    would yield aesthetic results.
  • I also became interested in the effect that the
    finite element mesh configuration had on
    smoothness, and visual appeal.
  • Talk about some of the artistic choices that I
    made
  • The song
  • The photos, sequence and speed
  • The effects on photographing the car, rotations,
    etc.
  • Mention outreach appeal that it has on youth,
    especially those that are underrepresented in the
    computational fields.
