Meet Mr. Neumann
  • Born December 28, 1903 in Budapest,
    Austria-Hungary
  • Died February 8, 1857 (age 53) in Washington
    D.C., United States

    driving!

4
CONTRIBUTIONS
  • John von Neumann was known for his contributions
to the fields of mathematical logic and the
foundations of quantum mechanics (in other words,
the atomic bomb). It is based on the observation
that all forms of energy are released in discrete
    units or bundles.

5
Wartime Contribution
  • The atomic bomb was used during World War II.
  • John von Neumann's wartime ID badge photo.

6
Neumann is best known for his work in developing
the first computer.
7
Honors
  • The crater Von Neumann on the moon is named after
    John Von Neumann.
  • On May 4, 2005 the United States Postal Service
issued commemorative stamps in his honor.
