Who We AreCompany Letter
  • After each of us had a close relative diagnosed
with breast cancer we wanted to put our talents
to use, raising money to help other diagnosed
patients. We met at a charity event sponsored by
the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
While exchanging stories of our families, we
found a common desire to help save lives and find
a cure. The Pink ladies Co. is a non-profit
organization that specializes in helping people
become more aware of the current issues involving
breast cancer. We not only help make our guests
more knowledgeable about breast cancer, but also
give them the option to make a difference in the
lives of women who are breast cancer patients by
donation money to The Susan G. Komen Breast
Cancer Foundation. Our mission is to help as
many people as we can by selling our cookies to
    help find a cure.
  • Helping save lives one cookie at a time.

  • After baking our cookies to a fresh golden-brown
we cut our cookies into the shape of a heart.

icing in the middle of the cookie. This
symbolizes our companys passion for raising
money for the breast cancer cure.

  • Our specialty ingredient, that captures
everyones heart, is the white chocolate chip
swirls that leaves our customers wanting more.

Required Comments
  • What should the denominator be for the cost per
    cookie calculation?
  • The denominator for the cost per cookie would be
the number of cookies made, in our case, 15.
  • 25.85(total cost) / 15 cookies 1.72 per
    cookie
  • What measures would your group use to effectively
    evaluate production performance?
  • We will use a cookie cutter to uniform the shape.
Also, we will use Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet
milk and white chocolate swirl chips
  • What measures were unnecessary? Why?
  • The only unnecessary measure was that our number
of cookies reworked for us was 0.
  • Was the 2 overhead rate reasonable?
  • The 2 overhead rate is slightly unreasonable
due to the fact that we have some expensive
    overhead materials.
  • What is your groups consensus on disposing of
    your overhead variance?
  • Our consensus is to dispose of the overhead
variance by allotting it to salaries since we are
    a non-profit organization. HOME
