1Strengthened by Sovereign Grace
- Ephesians 314-21
- April 29th 2007
- Ryan Habbena Twin City Fellowship
2Ephesians Thus Far
- The Sovereign Grace of God
- Jew and Gentile are Co-heirs in Christ
- Ephesians 111
- We have obtained an inheritance, having been
predestined according to His purpose who works
all things after the counsel of His will
- Ephesians 219
- So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,
but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and
are of God's household
3The Father of the Promise
- Ephesians 314 -15 For this reason I bow my knees
before the Father, from whom every family in
heaven and on earth derives its name,
4Strengthened Through the Power of the Spirit
- Ephesians 3 16 that He would grant you,
according to the riches of His glory, to be
strengthened with power through His Spirit in the
inner man
5Faith, Love, and Comprehending the Love of Christ
- Ephesians 317-19 so that Christ may dwell in
your hearts through faith and that you, being
rooted and grounded in love, may be able to
comprehend with all the saints what is the
breadth and length and height and depth - Â
6Knowing the Love of Christ
- Ephesians 319
- and to know the love of Christ which surpasses
knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the
fullness of God.
7The Love of Christ which Surpasses Knowledge
- Romans 8 31-34
- What then shall we say to these things? If God is
for us, who is against us? He who did not spare
His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all,
how will He not also with Him freely give us all
things? Who will bring a charge against God's
elect? God is the one who justifies who is the
one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died,
yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right
hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
8Glory to the God of All Grace
- Ephesians 320-21 Now to Him who is able to do
far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or
think, according to the power that works within
us, to Him be the glory in the church and in
Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.
Amen.
9The Prayers of PaulGetting our Priorities
Straight
- Ephesians 118-19
- I pray that the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened, so that you will know what is the
hope of His calling, what are the riches of the
glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what
is the surpassing greatness of His power toward
us who believe. These are in accordance with the
working of the strength of His might.
10Recognizing the Significance of the Sovereign
Power of God
- Philippians 16
- For I am confident of this very thing, that He
who began a good work in you will perfect it
until the day of Christ Jesus.
11Why We Need Strength from Above
- Ephesians 610 -13
- Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the
strength of His might. Put on the full armor of
God, so that you will be able to stand firm
against the schemes of the devil. For our
struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the powers, against
the world forces of this darkness, against the
spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly
places. Therefore, take up the full armor of
God, so that you will be able to resist in the
evil day, and having done everything, to stand
firm.
12Be Nourished by The Word of God
- 1 Peter 22
- Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of
the word, so that by it you may grow in respect
to salvation.
- Hebrews 513-14
- For everyone who partakes only of milk is not
accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he
is an infant. But solid food is for the mature,
who because of practice have their senses trained
to discern good and evil.
13Take Up the Sword of the Spirit
- Ephesians 517
- And take . . . The sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God
