Parenthesis

• When a set of numbers are inside of the
  parentheses, you are suppose to work what is
  inside of the parentheses first.

Exponents

• The exponent tells you how many times you
  multiply the base number times itself. If the
  base number is 2 and the exponent is 5, that
  means you multiply 2 times itself 5 times.

Multiplication

• Multiplication is the third step in order of
  operations. When you are multiplying, you are
  trying to get the product.

Division

• The fourth step in solving order of operations is
  division.

Addition

• Addition is the the fifth step in solving order
  of operation. All you have to do is add the
  numbers together and come up with a sum.

Subtraction

• When you subtract two or more numbers, all you
  are doing is taking away from the largest lumber.
