Introduction

• As part of the President's Management Agenda and
  in cooperation with the Chief Financial Officers'
  Financial Systems and E-Government Committee, the
  Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) is
  assisting with widespread adoption and
  implementation of Electronic Commerce/Electronic
  Data Interchange (EC/EDI) within the Department
  of Defense accounting and finance systems to
  improve financial management and expand
  electronic government

Electronic File Room (EFR)

• EFR is a web-based application providing view
  only access to EDM documents
• Documents stored in EDM support vendor and
  contract payments for all DFAS locations
• EFR Features
• Eliminates delays in accessing critical documents
• Electronic Foldering capability allows retrieval
  of all documents applicable to a single
  contract/entitlement
• CAC enabled and user id/password capable

• Payment information can be viewed on the web
• Replaced Vendor Pay Inquiry System (VPIS)

  upon disbursement
• Provides consolidated invoice repository

Electronic Standard Procurement System (SPS)
Interface

• SPS standardizes procurement business processes
  and automates contract writing and administration
  
• Electronic contract posting using SPS

  processing and improve current process
• Successful modification to accept DARPA
  accounting system (Oct. 2007)
