• Self-evaluate by start of Spring 2009
• Pick-up IE 400 Manual from the photocopy room
• Check whether you can answer the questions
  without much difficulty

• After self-evaluation, apply.
• Some firms require a Recommendation Letter.

• For Recomendation Letter, go to
  http//www.ie.metu.edu.tr/sp/
• Login with your id and password
• If the firm you want to apply is not listed, send
  an email to ie-sp_at_metu.edu.tr
• Fill out and download the form.

• Get it signed at Student Affairs Secretary,
• Yeter Halis (Room 128)
• Important!! Signing will be done weekly. Make
  sure you submit the filled out Recommendation
  Letter by Friday and pick up Monday afternoon.

• Before your practice is over- earlier the better
• Download two copies of the Evaluation Form
  (Basari Belgesi).
• Attach a recent photograph of yours, get it
  sealed.
• The company should fill out both copies company
  will keep one copy, and in a closed and sealed
  envelope will mail the other back.
• Download also employer survey form.

• Before your practice is over- earlier the better
• Practice for 4 weeks during summer
• If you have a summer school, practice right
  after.
• Submit the evaluation form to the firm (two
  copies).
• Write a report Fall 2009 due in 2 weeks
• Register for IE 400 in Fall 2009.
• Report is based on questions in the IE 400
  Manual.
• Due in two weeks after the semester starts.
• Fill out the questionaire, otherwise you will get
  Incomplete.

Steps to follow

• Starting from April
• Department will list some of the firms that you
  can apply.
• It is your responsibility to check regularly the
  updates in the list from the web-site and panel
  on 1st floor
• In almost all cases, department has no
  responsibility in arranging an organization for
  you.
• You should contact the firms by yourself and make
  the arrangement by yourself.

Types of Practice Reports

• Individual -manufacturing At least 4 weeks (use
  Manual)
• Individual -service At least 4 weeks
• (may use Koc Universitys Service Manual)
• Two people Each writes his/her own report
• Project/problem should be much more involved
• Notify the committee in the first week
• Project-based At least 6 weeks
• Two-page proposal in the first week
• Format is totally different (see the
  wep-page)
