Networking takes time, each month you wait is
another month wasted. - Dont assume that you can wait until later to
make career decisions. Your senior year is busy,
dont wait till the last minute to address career
questions. - Remember that this is your last year of direct
access to free career services

goals. - If you arent sure where to start, start with an
appointment! We will help you figure out what
resources will be most effective for you. - You are not required to use any of our services,
but we want to help you be successful in your
transition! Youre paying for the service, why
not use it?
8What do you do if you are a non-business major?
- Dont ASSUME that the campus recruiting system
is only for business majors and has nothing for
you! It might not, but we are also encouraging
employers to use our services to recruit you, so
today there may be nothing of interest to you,
but tomorrow there may be a new
company/organization using it. - Dont ASSUME that the campus recruiting system
is the only thing we have to offer you. Schedule
an appointment and let us help you develop your
action plan. - It doesnt matter what your major is, you still
need a resume of some kind! We can help!

26On-Campus Recruiting Summary
- The system is easy once you get into it.
- If you sign up for an interview, but dont show
up, you will be blocked from using on-campus
recruiting until you meet with the Director of
the career center. Blowing off interviews in
unprofessional and unacceptable. - Many schools use this system so it has a very
good performance track record. If you think
something is wrong with the system, please stop
by and ask. - Dont count on on-campus recruting alone!
- MonsterTrak is not the only useful job search
website.
27Two Keys to Employment
- How flexible you are if you have to live and
work in Reading, PA that will change how you job
search. - How hard you work at finding employment Every
student has learned how to cram. But you cannot
cram to get a job like you cram to pass an exam.
Finding employment or preparing to get into
graduate school will feel like a full-time job.
If you dont feel like you have added at least
a stressful part-time job to your schedule when
you job search, you may not be working at it
enough. We want you to be happy and successful
when you graduate. But most of the time good
jobs and success dont just fall into your
lap.you have to work at it!
28Graduate School in your plans?
- Meet with a CfCS Staff member.
- Work with your academic advisor.
- Research and develop a plan.
- Dont assume you will get inhave a back-up plan.
- Remember that in a tight job market more students
try to get into graduate school to avoid the
market. That means more competition! - Be prepared to do more then count on good grades
to get into graduate school.
