7WHAT IS TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES?
- Training And Employment Services, a JOBLINK
PARTNER, administers Workforce Investment Act
(WIA) programs to help individuals with the tools
necessary to obtain and retain employment at a
level of self-sufficiency and to improve their
income. WIA is the primary source of federal
dollars for Dislocated Worker training.
8WHAT ARE THE BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR
WIA SERVICES?
- 16 years of age or older,
- A United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
- In compliance with the registration provision of
the military Selective Service Act.

18WHAT IS A DISLOCATED WORKER?

- An individual who has been terminated or laid
off, or who has received notice of termination or
layoff from employment, and is eligible for or
has exhausted entitlement to unemployment
compensation, and is unlikely to return to a
previous industry or occupation - An individual who is employed at a facility at
which the employer has made a general
announcement that such facility will close within
180 days - An individual who is a displaced homemaker
