Rationale / Mandate

• Evaluate and recommend an end user reporting tool
  to replace our current solution that has reached
  end of life.
• This solution must take Lauriers current and
  future reporting needs to a web based zero
  footprint, with centralized administration and
  maintenance.

IBM buys Cognos

• IBM pays 5bn cash for Cognos, agreement to close
  first quarter 2008.
• Feb 28th 2008, Cognos will become an IBM
  division, based out of IBM Canada.
• All vendor/clients relationships will continue to
  be maintained and honoured.
• Cognos shares closed on Friday 52, deal values
  Cognos at 58 per share.
