KirkpatrickWorkforce Innovations Award
  • The Workforce Development Board partnered with
Aegis Communications Group, a private business,
to create a Career Center within the business
facilities. The costs are shared with the
largest portion being paid by the private
    business. This unique Partnership provides
opportunity for local residents to get the
assistance they need to find and keep jobs
without traveling long distances and provides a
    business environment that attracts professionals.

Theodore E. Small Partnership Award
  • The Aegis Career Center is a cost effective
customer service center. The return on
investment for all parties is significant.
Because the employer pays infrastructure and
support costs, we were able to reduce the cost
    per customer served and placed.
  • During Program Year 06-07, the Port St. Lucie
Career Center cost the Board a total of 60.414,
    including staff, infrastructure, utilities,
security, insurance, repairs and maintenance and
    custodial services
  • In Program Year 06-07, we served 5,660 clients,
our cost per customer for the facility was
10.67, total cost per placement was 42.97.

Employer One-Stop Center
  • The Aegis/Workforce Board partnership has
    widespread implications for the nations
    workforce system. Similar partnerships may
    accomplish the following
  • Move the national workforce system from a
    jobseeker-based system to a business-driven
system from a government-sponsored program to
    an employer-sponsored service.
  • Relieve local workforce boards of high
infrastructure costs which will free dollars to
meet employers needs and train more workers.
  • Improve the image of the workforce system, as the
    deliverer of human resources.
  • Private/Public One-Stop

    both employer and company
  • Since the employees were already familiar with
the One-Stop and staff the Rapid response was
    very successful
