A Matter of Misalignment

• According to a recent report issued by the
  Stanford University Bridge Project
• the coursework between high school and college
  is not connected students graduate from high
  school under one set of standards and, three
  months later, are required to meet a whole new
  set of standards in college.

• Links primary, secondary and post-secondary
  institutions on a regional basis
• Tracks students from one segment to the next
• Engages faculty across segments in instructional
  conversations
• Includes over 4,000 K-12 schools, community
  colleges, and universities throughout California
• Educational research database of 225 million
  student records to date

The State Plan for Tech Prep

• The CC Chancellors Office and the CDE have
  agreed that Tech Prep consortia, as a condition
  for receiving Tech Prep funding, will be members
  of and submit data to Cal-PASSor participate in
  a similar system that can track students
  intersegmentally

Cal-PASS Data Reporting Requirements

• When Cal-PADS comes on board, it can be used like
