- Safety is enhanced through competent practice,
based on evidence and experience and demonstrated
through appropriate clinical judgment - Current knowledge, access to expertise and
vigilance are critical to exercising clinical
judgment which promotes good catches and
prevents incidents leading to failure to rescue
and close calls - Competence is both an individual nurse and
collective professional nursing responsibility
