Pressurized Fueling System

• Vent

Once the pressure reaches between 7 to 9 psi,
the piston inside the nozzle detects the
back-pressure, and the nozzle shuts off.
The nozzle is engaged and locks into place.
The handle on the nozzle is turned to the ON
position, the receiver opens and diesel fuel
begins to fill the fuel tank
The vent allows increased pressure caused by
the fueling process to escape
As the diesel level reaches the float balls in
the vent, they contact against an o-ring to
provide a seal
Fuel continues to enter the tank, but as there
is no venting, pressure begins to build up in the
tank

• To prevent spillage the required height of the
  vent is determined by three factors
• The shape of the tank
• The longer the tank from front to back the
  greater the affect the level has on the required
  height
• The placement of the vent
• If the vent is placed in the center of the tank
  the level has the least affect.
• The pitch of the grade required for travel.
