  • Character Statement
  • You cannot dream yourself into a character you
must hammer and forge yourself one.

  • -James A. Froude
  • I agree with this quote. You cant simply think
you are a certain person with certain qualities.
You have to work at what and how you want to be.
Your character depends on how you behave, and the
way your mind works, and how you control them.

  • Journal Entry Prompts
  • 1.Which is more important actual experiences, or
the memories that remain when the experiences are
    over? Explain
  • I believe actual experiences are more
important that the memories that remain. Memories
can be great because you can relive them over and
over again, but memories would not exist unless
    the experience occurs first.
  • 2. Would you accept 1,000,000 to leave the
country and never set foot in it again?
  • No, I would never take money to leave the
country. 1,000,000 is not very much money, and
America is the greatest country on Earthfor the
most part. The only place I may consider leaving
to would be Australia. To me, it seems to be the
closest thing to America, and their accents are
    cool too.
  • 3. Do you feel that advice form older people
carries a special weight because of their greater
    experience? Explain.
  • I do believe that advice from elders is
special. They may not completely understand the
situation you may be in, but they can give very
useful information. It is usually pride that
keeps someone from using another persons advice,
especially if they are older or younger than
    them.
  • 4. If you could spend one year in perfect
happiness, but not remember a thing, would you do
    it? Explain.
  • No, I would not spend a year in perfect
happiness, only to not remember anything. It
would be completely pointless. There is no point
in doing something if you know you wont remember
anything. You wouldnt be able to think about how
happy you were. Everything would be exactly the
same once that year is over.
