• To reinforce how closely claims relate to the
  NHSLA Standards
• To reinforce how good documentation can support
  defendable claims

Introduction to session

• The session will comprise of discussions around
  actual legal claims.
• Delegates will consider these cases to determine
  what went wrong and to identify which of the
  criteria within the NHSLA Risk Management
  Standards are relevant to the individual cases.
• Delegates will then speculate as to the outcome
  of the cases and try to identify the costs
  associated with both the claimants damages and
  court costs.
• The session is designed to relate actual claims
  to the NHSLA Standards. Delegates should have a
  greater understanding of how clear and concise
  documentation can defend claims.
• To reinforce how closely claims relate to the
  NHSLA Standards and how good documentation can
  support defendable claims.
• It is however important to remember that claims
  are usually made several years after the event
  and it will be necessary to defend the claim
  using the documentation in place at the time of
  the event.
