BroncoData Vision
  • FRAMEWORK
  • Every division, college, department and program
on campus shares a common requirement and
    reasonable expectation that the information
necessary to perform its mission and function
    should be readily available
  • STANDARD
  • Convenient access to timely and accurate
information is the hallmark of the data warehouse

7
BroncoData Vision
  • BUILDING FROM AN EXISTING FOUNDATION
  • BroncoData began as a project within IRAP its
vision and value are recognized and reinforced by
    this new model
  • The growing importance of BroncoData exceeded the
    existing resource model
  • The new model builds upon the existing
    infrastructure, enhancing its effectiveness by
    providing an organizational structure distributed
    across the divisions

8
Guiding Principles
  • Success is the endpoint assuming the request is
consistent with a valid business need and
appropriate use, a request will be honored
  • Timeliness is essential
  • Requests will have a champion either a data
architect or report writer will work with the
requestor to get the right data, possibly
    refining the request or output
  • Processes are clear, simple and effective
  • Communication is effective and proactive
  • Security guidelines and procedures are clear

9
BroncoData New Model
  • The data warehouse is a decentralized, yet
    integrated system
  • Its organizational structure is distributed
    across divisions
  • Contributions from both functional and technical
    experts are essential

10
BroncoData New Model
  • Responsibilities must be clearly defined
    processes guidelines will be developed
  • Coordination and collaboration are ensured
    through well defined structures
  • DW Administrator A new role that will provide
    centralized leadership
