- Set up client computers to use Call Accounting
5Client computer requirements
- Client computers are used by supervisors who
typically have access to the Call Accounting
website, run Network Monitor, use Report
Distributor - It is important to consider what other
applications agents and supervisors run on their
computers - As you add applications concurrently on a single
computer, your central processing unit (CPU),
RAM, and disk drive space requirements increase - The following client computer specifications
detail what you require to implement for Call
Accounting applications only

8Administration rights and security
- After you install the Call Accounting software,
by default only the administrator can gain access
to Call Accounting - You must specify user names, passwords, and
security roles for employees - in Call Accounting, YourSitegtConfigurationgtAdd/e
dit Employee - NOTE In order to assign security roles, your
login must be associated to a security role that
does not restrict you from assigning security.
For example, the administrator can change
security restrictions to permit additional users
to gain access to Call Accounting and its
components.
You must set up client computers using the
administrator account name and password
9Client computer set up for Call Accounting
- Complete the following steps to set up a client
computer to use Call Accounting - Browse to the Call Accounting website from the
client computer - Install .NET Framework on the client computer
- Run Client Component Pack
- Run Client Role Selector
10Install .NET Framework
- You must install .NET Framework in order to run
Call Accounting - You can install .NET Framework from the Call
Accounting website, HelpgtSoftware
downloads/Installations
11Contact Center Client
- You use Client Component Pack to download Contact
Center Client - Contact Center Client consists of Call Accounting
applications that employees need on their
computers - You require special system privileges to run this
installation
12Client Role Selector
- The Client Role Selector is a wizard that helps
you install the applications and components
typically used by the following types of
employees - Supervisor
- The Supervisor role installation is designed for
supervisors and managers who monitor devices (for
example agents and queues) and schedule agents. - Agent
- The Agent role installation is designed for
agents who monitor themselves and/or other agents
and queues.
13Client Role Selector
- The Client Role Selector is a wizard that helps
you install the applications and components
typically used by the following types of
employees - Administrator
- The Administrator role installation is designed
for employees who manage the Enterprise Server. - Power user
- The Power user role installation is designed for
employees who may perform the functions of a
supervisor, agent, and administrator. - You can re-run Client Role Selector on a client
computer at any time to change the components and
applications installed on the client computer
14Network Monitor
- Network Monitor indicates if your SMDR data
streams are flowing - Using Network Monitor, you can
- View data collection for all media servers
(telephone systems) - Enable a popup alarm that notifies you of any
data and system alarms - Reset the SMDR link
- View detailed media server information
- If the data streams are not flowing, an alarm
appears - You can easily clear the alarms and reset the
SMDR links
When you have OPS Manager, you do not need to use
Network Monitor
