• Program Evaluation is often mistaken to be
  research, since many research skills are needed
  to do evaluations.
• In similar manner skills in communication, public
  speaking and writing are also needed.

• I think design, measurement, analysis and data
  processing are basic skills.
• Survey methods, interviewing and qualitative data
  collection form the other array of necessary
  skills.

• In making the outline for this course I listed
  Brunswikian Psychology in that I find the work of
  a learning psychologist needed in working with
  the objectives.

• In doing an evaluation I find the need for
  someone I respect to confer with me and allow me
  to get rid of some of my insecurities. This
  person is also helpful in calculating inter-rater
  agreement and editing.

• People skills are useful in both gaining
  information and in communicating findings.
  Evaluators often have to deal with fears of what
  the evaluations may do to the staff or to the
  program.
