Graphic Design Tips

• Color
• Decide on a look and be consistent
• Background must contrast with letters
• NEVER make each letter a different color

Readable Fonts

• Use Sans Serif fonts in presentations
• Arial and Helvetica are sans serif fonts
• Sans Serif Fonts have a strong presence.
• Times is a Serif Font.
• Serif Fonts are less strong.
• Times is suited to body text in print material.

Style Size of Type

• Improve readability with larger type.
• Use Bold for titles
• Shadow outline are too difficult to read.
• NEVER USE ALL UPPER CASE
• Use no more than 3 type sizes on a slide.
• Use no more than 2 type styles on a slide.

Layout of Text

• Align left.
• Use Bullets for greater readability.
• The eye scans bullets quickly
• Avoid centering text because it makes it harder
  for the reader to take in the information.The eye
  moves in and out and comprehension takes more
  time.

Be Brief

• No more than 6 lines to a slide
• No more that 6 words to a line
• Less IS more.

• Words aligned left with bullets?
• Text kept to minimum?
• Sans Serif Font used?
• No more than 6 lines-6 words?
• Font size large enough?
• Titles Bold?
