Marc Brown was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in
1946. He received a lot of encouragement and
support from his grandmother and uncle to pursue
his ambition of becoming an illustrator.

After receiving a B.F.A. in painting from the
Cleveland Institute of Art,he worked as T.V art
director, a professor of mechanical drawing, and
a freelance illustrator, all before becoming a
writer.

In his books, Mr.Brown addresses the fears and
problems children face that may have to do with
family, friendship,school or pets.

Some of the books he has wrote are the
Arthurseries about a lovable aardvark, the
Rhymes series, the Dinosaur series about dos
and donts and many more.
