Starred Conversations
  • Did you know if you put stars beside more than
    one email in a conversation, all those starred
    sections will stay open and NOT stack!

New Responses to Conversations
  • Did you know if you are reading a conversation
    and a new reply comes in, a notice will appear at
    the bottom right of your screen asking you if you
    want to update your conversation to include the
    new email?

Deleting Messages within a Conversation
Click here to delete a single message within a
conversation.
  • Users can delete individual messages within a
    conversation by clicking on the down arrow beside
    Reply and choosing Delete this message.
  • This will only delete the selected message and
    not the entire conversation.

Reply Arrow
Click here for more options when replying to
e-mail.
Click here to reply to e-mail messages.
  • Reply options are located in the top right hand
    corner of all e-mail you receive.
  • Click the drop-down arrow for options when
    replying to e-mails.

Reply Options
The drop down arrow includes the following
options
  • Print
  • This option will put the e-mail conversation in a
    printer friendly format.
  • Delete this message
  • This option will let the user delete the current
    e-mail.
  • Report Phishing
  • This option will report the e-mail as phishing
  • Show original
  • This options shows the original communication
    with the current reply.
  • Message text garbled
  • This option shows the message if the content is
    unreadable due to encoded formatting.
  • Reply to all
  • This option will send your reply to anyone who
    was sent the originating e-mail.
  • Forward
  • This option will send your reply and forward the
    original message to a new recipient.
  • Reply by chat to Sender
  • This option will let you send your reply in chat
    form.
  • Filter messages like this
  • This option will walk the user through a wizard
    to set up a filter.

Quick Reply
  • Gmail has a quick reply option at the bottom of
    each e-mail.
  • The user can click on any of these links to
    quickly reply, reply to all, forward, or reply by
    chat to any e-mail he or she has received.
  • This option is another location to perform the
    same actions that can be performed by clicking
    the down arrow beside Reply at the top of the
    e-mail.

Show details
Click here to see the details of the e-mail.
  • Show details is located on the top right-hand
    side of the e-mail beside the time.
  • Users can click on show details to see additional
    information about the e-mail such as e-mails
    addresses of the senders and the recipients, the
    date, and subject of the e-mail.

Hide details
Click here to see the details of the e-mail.
  • Show details changes to hide details once the
    user clicks on the option.
  • Click on hide details to go back to revert back
    to hiding the details of the e-mail.

Reporting Spam
If you receive Spam, select the Messages check
box and then click the Report Spam button. This
will prevent you from receiving Spam from this
address in the future.

Removing Labels in an e-mail
Labels assigned to THIS e-mail. Click on the X
to remove the label while working in the e-mail.
Click here to delete a single message within a
conversation.
  • Any labels assigned to a conversation will be
    shown in the top left corner of the e-mail beside
    Google.
  • Users can remove these labels while working in
    the e-mail by clicking on the X beside the name
    of the label.

E-mail Options
These links will perform the functions as
described below. Expand all will toggle to
Collapse all. Click Collapse all to revert the
conversation back to the collapsed version.
  • There are several useful tools on the right side
    of the screen when viewing your e-mails.
  • New window this link will open your e-mail in a
    new window.
  • Print all this link will format the
    conversation in a printer-friendly version with
    all e-mails in the conversation displayed.
  • Expand all this link will expand the
    conversation so that all e-mails in a
    conversation are shown.
  • Collapse all this link revert the expand all
    command back to the collapsed default view.
  • Forward all this link will forward the entire
    conversation and not just the e-mail you are
    currently viewing.

Searching for an E-mail
  • What can I search for?
  • Email subject
  • Email contact (to or from)
  • Keyword

Search Options
  • Sometimes you need more search options than just
    typing in a name or keyword into the search box
    so that you can narrow your results.
  • Click on Show search options.
  • Fill in what you need.
  • Click Search Mail.

Contacts
  • Contacts have 3 built in groups
  • My Contacts
  • My Contacts is where you can add people to your
    address book either from one of the other groups
    or just by adding a new address.
  • Suggested Contacts
  • Contacts are automatically added to this group
    every time you compose or reply to a new email
    address.
  • Most Contacted
  • For addresses you correspond with frequently,
    they are automatically added to your Most
    Contacted group.
  • You can also make your own groups, such as the
    TRT group shown to the left.

  • To move Suggested Contacts to My Contacts
  • Click on Suggested Contacts on the left.
  • Click Select All
  • Click Move to My Contacts

Creating Groups
  • Must have contacts in My Contacts before you
    create groups!
  • Click on
  • Add name of group when prompted.
  • Click OK.

Adding to Groups
  • Click on group name.
  • Type name of contacts.
  • Will only show people in My Contacts!

Deleting Groups
  • Click on a Group
  • Click on Delete group

Settings
Click here to access the Settings
  • Users can change settings in their individual
    e-mail accounts on the settings page.
  • Users MUST save the settings for the changes to
    take effect.

Click here to change the language used in your
account.

  • Choose if you would like to show all pictures or
    only pictures for chosen contacts.
  • Choose to include a signature in your e-mail
    messages here.
  • If you choose to include a signature, click the
    radio button beside the text box and input your
    signature in the box.
  • Choose if you would like to show an indicator for
    messages sent to a mailing list.

  • You can choose to change the encoding for out
    going messages here, but he default setting is
    the recommended choice.

Click here to cancel any changes you do not wish
to take effect.
Click here to Save any desired changes.
  • Once you have made all of the changes you would
    like to make to your setting, you must click on
    Save Changes for the adjustments to take
    effect.
  • If you have made changes, but you do not wish to
    keep them, click on Cancel.
  • Remember, no changes will take effect if you do
    not click on Save Changes.

Account Activity Details
Click here to view details of your e-mail account.
  • Users can view account activity and details by
    clicking on Details at the bottom of the screen
    under the Inbox.
  • This screen will show users the following
    information
  • How many times their account has been viewed
  • The IP address that was used to open account

Viewing the Details
Click here sign out of all other e-mail sessions
you may have open.
The access type, IP address, and date and time
your e-mail account was accessed are listed here.
  • If you forgot to log out of your MeckMail
    account, you can close your account from any
    computer with Internet access.
  • Click on Sign out all other sessions to close
    any other session you may have open or you forgot
    to close.
  • Recent activity displays how your account was
    accessed, the IP from which it was accessed, and
    the date and time the account was being used.

Chatting Symbols
The contact person is online.

Chatting Contacts
Your are chatting with the contact person.
  • Gmail has a chatting feature.
  • Chatting provides a quick and easy way to carry
    on a conversation with someone else without
    having to send an e-mail.
  • All chats are recorded and can be accessed under
    the Chats folder on the left side of the screen.

  • Our new MeckMail account comes with some other
    great products.
  • Click on the links at the top of the page to
    access these new features.
  • You access your Start Page, Calendar, Documents,
    and Sites by clicking on the links at the top of
    the page.

Start Page
  • Users can create their own start page.
  • You can add stuff that is interesting to you.
  • Click on Add stuff to add gadgets that you would
    like to see frequently.

  • Click on Add it now to add any gadgets you
    would like to have on your homepage.
  • You can filter choices by choosing categories on
    the left side of the screen.

Documents
  • Google Docs is available to all MeckMail users.
  • Google Docs provides word processing,
    presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
  • A major benefit of using Google Docs is the
    ability to collaborate with other users.

Sites
Click here to access sites you have created in
Google Sites.
Click here to browse sites within the mcpsweb.org
domain.
  • Google Sites is also available to all MeckMail
    users.
  • Users can create simple websites in a matter of
    minutes using this application.
  • Sites are automatically posted on the Internet
    and a URL is generated.
  • When you click on the Sites link, all of the
    sites you have created will be listed.
  • Users also have the ability to browse sites
    within the mcpsweb.org domain.

Calendar
  • The MeckMail calendar is available to all users.
  • You can add events and get e-mail reminders.
  • Users can also access calendars for other users
    that they have made public.
