  explanation of some of the concepts of Websydian
  Express as well as a short overview of how the
  following features in Websydian Express work

In Websydian Express your site is built up by a
number of site elements. These elements are frame
sets, menus, URLs, and business processes. You
organize the elements in a tree structure in
order to get exactly the site you want with the
elements you need. You can see the elements of
the site in the tree structure in the
administration interface.

You can also add new elements. Just mark the
element you want to add something to and click
Add.
From the items here you can choose to view and
update the information on an element, You can
remove elements, add roles and change
presentation of an element. Just mark the element
and click the buttons.

If you want to add an element to your site
structure e.g. a new menu item in the top menu,
mark the top menu.
And click Add.

The guide at the top tells you you have to go
through three steps in order to add an element.
You can either create a new site element or
simply refer to an existing one.
Then click Next.
To create a new page with its own new menu point
added to an existing menu (not create a new menu)
choose Comment, which will provide a new empty
page to start with.

Write the name of the new menu point.
Choose whether you want it aligned left or right.
Give it a sequence number. This will decide where
in the menu the point will be shown. If you want
it to be the first menu point give it e.g. the
number 10, and the next points 20, 30 etc. This
will allow you to add new menu points in between
the others, just by calling them e.g. 22, like in
this case.
Click Next
State in which frame you want the content to be
displayed.
Write text you want to appear on the page.

Site structure 6/7 - adding a site element

The last step is to assign roles to the element.
The roles determine which of your users can
see/access the element. See more about roles
later in this demo.
Start by adding e.g. Administrator to ensure
that only you and your administrator colleagues
can see the page until all content is in place
and you are ready to publish it. Later you simply
assign more roles for others to see the page as
well e.g. your customers.
Click Finish

Site structure 7/7 - adding a site element

Now your new menu point and page has been added
to the site structure and you can start working
with the page. Still, the page is not displayed
in the menu on the site. For that you need to add
more roles to the element.

The Page Modeler 1/10
With the Page Modeler you can create pages and
add page elements to your pages.
You find the Page Modeler under Developer Tools

You can see which pages are already created. You
can see how they are structured, and you can
update or remove these.
To create a new page click Insert

Give your page a name for your eyes only
Give the page a title for all to see.
Click Insert
Choose whether it should be created as an include
page a page which can be included in pages you
have already created.

Your page has been created, and you can now add
page elements.
Mark the page and Click Add

There are three kinds of element you can add
fields, grids and events. Events are activators
e.g. buttons. You can even add some elements to
other elements e.g. you can add a field or a
button to a grid. You just choose the page
elements you need, and Websydian Express
generates the HTML code to create these elements
for you.

For grids enter number of rows.

Your grid has been added.
Now you can add more elements to your page or to
your grid. Mark the element you want to add more
elements to.

Adding a field to the grid.
Replacement markers are links to your back-end
application. Its here you state what is to be
displayed in the field in stead of the test data.
Click Finish
The label for the field for all to see.
Test data to see what goes where. These data will
be replaced according to your replacement marker.

And you can create and view the template you have
created for you page.

From the items here you can choose to view and
update the information you have on each user. You
can also view the roles assigned to the user. And
you can delete the user all together.

Under User management you create and maintain
your user database
To create a new user simply choose insert and
fill in your user data.

This is an example of what you get when you press
view on a user.
These fields are default with Websydian Express.
These fields are custom fields This means that
you can define your user data recording according
to your specific needs. References from other
databases etc. can be loaded into these fields.

Roles are a means of allowing different users
different rights and accesses on your site. Roles
are therefore also a security feature, as you can
limit and control access. When you choose
Roles on one of your users, you get this
overview of which roles are assigned to the user,
and you can add or remove roles.

• A bit about roles
• A role is like a user profile. You can define all
  the roles you want with Websydian Express. By
  giving a user a role (a profile) and adding the
  same role to a site element, you control what the
  user will see and be able to access. If you give
  a site element e.g. a menu point the role
  customer, only users who has this role assigned
  to them, will be able to see that menu point and
  click it.
• This way you can fully control what the various
  users see and have access to.

Role management 1/2
You can create thousands of different user roles.
The roles are shown in this list under Roles
under User management.
You can view and update the discription of each
role. You can delete the role, and you can see
which users are assigned the role in question.
All with a click.
To create a new role click Insert and add a new
role name and description.

Roles are assigned to the various pages or
elements when you create them, but you can always
create and add or remove roles. This is done in
the site structure.
Choose the element.
And click the arrow of Roles
Choose Assign
