presentation follows closely to the strands for
Ohios Model Competency-Based Program for Social
Studies.

This site provides comprehensive Ohio history and
facts about Ohio for students of all ages.
U.S. Capitol Virtual Tour
This is a neat site that hold virtual reality to
its name. It shows the historical areas in which
the government officials used to work using a 360
degree camera.
Thanksgiving Website
This site provides great thematic activities for
students, parents, and teachers.

The Great Chicago Fire
Information is provided on this historical fire
and how it impacted the city as it stands today.
Benjamin Franklin
This site provided a lot of information on this
courageous historical leader and inventor.

The state of Ohio wants its students to
understand aspects of the past that make
Americans unique and what we have in common with
others in the world.

White House For Kids
This site shows kids everything about the
government in the White House.
WKRC
One of the requirements for third grade is to
examine current issues using the news for
example. This news station has a web site for
the news and a quiz for students.
State of Ohio
Provides links to all areas of Ohios Government.

Federal Bureau of Investigation
Protection of American People is important.
Students need to understand what this important
agency does for our country.
United State Department of Labor
Using this site, students can get a feel for how
this Federal Department can protect our rights as
citizens.

principles and how the government reflects those
principles. Using the previous sites students
can get a feel for this.

First Americans for Grade Schoolers
This interactive site allows students to explore
the mysteries of the Native American Culture.

This website provides many opportunities for
students to learn about Japan.
The Louvre- Famous French Museum
A historical wonder, this museum provides
students with the realities of their artwork
without having to travel overseas.

Canada
All the information you would ever need on this
country is provided here.
American Studies Crossroads
An International network and curriculum project.
This site is designed to provide links to the
world wide web, in the areas of community,
technology,and learning and research.

Shows students that the U.S. respects and
recognizes various cultural groups as well as
gender. It sends a message that our differences
is what makes our country strong.

Medieval Times
This site allows you to explore the time period
through a detailed castle trivia game. The
coolest part is that it is designed by other
students.
Information on all the Countries of the World
If you need any information on any country in the
world this is the site to go to. Students can
find the most broad and most detailed information
here.

Gives students complete access to a major
newspaper.
National Geographic
Provides students with really cool maps.
Earthrise
Facilitates conceptualization of the geography of
the earth with maps and pictures from space.

around the world. It also looks at how common
problems are addressed.

The site tells about the kids voting concept.
Kids Voting is a great way to get kids used to
