What is a volcano

• A volcano is a crack or opening, in the planet's
  surface or crust.
• It allows hot, molten rock, ash and gases to
  escape from below the surface of the volcano.
• Sometimes from volcanic activity, rock forms
  mountains or features like mountains over a
  period of time.

sulphide!
The liquid that comes out of the volcano is
called magma!
In 1815 the explosion of the Tambora volcano on
the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia threw so much
volcanic dust into the atmosphere that it caused
it to cool slightly.

The next year, 1816, was known as the year

Where are volcanoes found?
Volcanoes are found in many parts of the world.
But most of them are found around the pacific
ocean This part of the world is called the Ring
of Fire. The Ring of Fire is a ring of volcanoes
that are around the Pacific Ocean. The Hawaiian
islands and the Hawaiian volcanoes are closest to
the middle of the Ring of Fire. This is because
there are plates crashing into each other, but
they do not crash around Hawaii.
