• West Nile virus was first isolated from an adult
  woman in the West Nile District of Uganda in
  1937.

• West Nile Virus (WNV) has emerged in recent years
  in regions of Europe and North America,
  presenting a threat to the public and animal
  health.

• Infected Mosquitoes

• No. The chance of getting infected with the virus
  is low.

• High Fever
• Headache
• Neck stiffness
• Disorientation
• Coma
• Tremors
• Convulsions
• Muscle weakness
• Vision Loss
• Numbness
• Paralysis

When do people develop symptoms?

• People typically develop symptoms between 3 and
  14 days after they are bitten by the infected
  mosquito.
