• Provide training and support to Medicaid clinics,
  local dental hygiene society, health department
  staff, and child care providers on infant oral
  health protocol
• Free trainings using DVDs and PowerPoint to
  encourage offices to see young children and for
  child care facilities to incorporate daily
  brushing
• Recruit dentists to participate in treating
  uninsured children and participate in Give Kids A
  Smile Day
• Developed contracts where dentists agree to treat
  children at VERY reduced fees or no fees
• Offer yearly volunteer appreciation/training
  evening to all volunteers
• Recruit dental volunteers to present at dental
  parent center meetings and offer other ways they
  can volunteer for Head Start

• Created Oral Health quarterly newsletter
• Emailed to all staff, HSAC, dental volunteers,
  and community members to bring awareness of the
  Head Start program and the Oral Health programs

  Medicaid CHP benefits
• Provides free marketing for dental clinics
• Network with local dental hygiene and dental
  society and health department
