  • I help people find ways to travel in style
  • Instead of I am a photographer
  • I preserve todays moments for tomorrows
    memories
  • Remember your title should tell people what you
    do!

9
What to Avoid
  • Long credential list
  • Going over your time slots catch attention then
    stop talking!
  • Dont describe the sales process.

10
Presentation
  • Prepare! Prepare! Prepare!
  • Briefly introduce your business as a whole then
focus on a key area of product or service
  • Use results oriented messaging-how have you
    helped your clients.
  • Use your time to define your unique competitive
advantage. Why should your contacts recommend you

11
Dos
  • Be precise and to the point
  • Give enough information to clearly define what
you do and why choose you.
  • Speak clearly and authoritatively.
  • Establish yourself as an expert in your field
  • Speak with passion and excitement.
  • Allow time for questions
  • Bring business cards, brochures, and other
    related handouts

12
Dont
  • Run over your time allotment
  • Ramble
  • Waste your speech on your past credentials.
  • Try to talk about each and every product you
    offer.
  • Talk over your audience.

13
Key Points Review
  • Always have a 15 second intro ready.
  • Use your group 30 second info to let people know
why you are better and ask for the referral you
    are looking for
  • Create a unique title that solicits questions
  • Always prepare when giving a presentation-dont
tell anyone if you did not!
  • Make time to use what you have seen here to learn
    about others

14
Key Points Continued
  • Ask others and/or listen to others what can you
    do to help them?
  • Who is there ideal referral?
  • What area of their business needs help right now?
  • How can you help?
  • Develop Relationships!

15
Referrals
  • Are people who you have given permission to be
contacted and are expecting a call
  • Follow up ASAP
  • When possible pass the referral by phone or email
right away-do not wait till the meeting
  • When passing a referral there is no need to get
into the particulars in a group setting use the
time before or after the meeting for that
  • Leads are ok but should not be labeled as a
    referral.
