Called the "Davos of IT" after the prestigious
Swiss economic-policy meeting, Global Forum 2008
brought together information and communication
technology professionals from over 40 countries.
Among the speakers from the United States were
FCC Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate and FTC
Commissioner J. Thomas Rosch. Global Forum 2009
will be held in Bucharest, Romania, this being
the first time the event will take place in an
Eastern European venue.

GLOBAL FORUM IN BUCHAREST
Romania has won the competition with the US,
China and Switzerland to organize the 18th
edition of the Global Forum this year. The event
will take place on Monday 19th Tuesday 20th
October 2009, at the Parliament Palace in
Bucharest. It is the first time in its 17-year
old history that the event takes place in an
Eastern European country.
