  the Amazon by Mary Pope Osborne. I chose it
  because I really like Magic Tree House books.

Authors Purpose

• I think the authors purpose is to entertain and
  to inform the reader a little bit.

Characters Setting

• Jack
• Annie

• Afternoon on the Amazon River.

Beginning

• In the beginning Jack and Annie go back to the
  tree house. They cant find Peanut (mouse) . Then
  they remember they gave her a sock for a bed.
  They heard squeaking noises. Jack and Annie found
  Peanut. They look for a book that was open. The
  book is called The Rainforest. They said, I wish
  to go there.

Middle

• Before they knew it Jack and Annie were there.
  They got out of the tree. They were walking when
  they heard Boom ! They said whats that? It
  was army ants! They were coming

• toward them! They ran as fast as they could.
  After that they wanted to go home. There was one
  problem, they didnt know where to go! They were
  stuck in the rain forest!

End

• Jack and Annie started to walk around. Soon they
  ended up by a river. Jack looked in the book,
  they were next to the Amazon. Jack and Annie
  found a canoe. They got in the canoe and floated
  down the river. They saw

• all these things but they were all animals. This
  monkey kept on throwing mangos at them. They
  found out that he mango was the thing they needed
  to find.

Summary

• Afternoon on the Amazon is a good book. It is
  very exciting. In the beginning Jack and Annie go
  to the rainforest. After a while they are stuck
  in the rainforest.

• They try to get out of the rainforest.

• I would recommend this to a person that likes
  adventure.
