Talk
  • Here are some popular sports around the world
Tennis. Skiing, golf, basketball, rugby, soccer,
    baseball, badminton, cricket, bowls, boxing,
ping-pong, volleyball, swimming, field and track,
    ice hockey
  • Do you know something about those sports? Work in
pairs. What is your favorite sport? Why do enjoy
it? Is there anything you dislike about it?

  • Watching and playing sport is still one of the
worlds most popular leisure activities. But with
the arrival of professional competition, many
people think some sports, like tennis and
football, have change and have become too
predictable. Here are some suggestions about how
some sports could be improved to give players and
spectators a sporting chance. Guess which sports
    the suggestions refer to.

  • I would make them use a circular pool and make
them try to pass each other.
  • I would let the referee look at a video recording
before he decides to send a player off.
  • I wouldnt let people over two meters tall play.
  • Why dont they make them fight in a round ring,
    not in the traditional square?
  • I wouldnt let the players have a second serve.
  • Id let them all go down the slope at the same
    time, racing against each other.
  • If the goal posts were wider apart it would let
    players score more.
  • Make the players use heavier or wooden rackets.
