- In students name/no credit check
- Available to all students, regardless of need
- Repayment begins 6 months following graduation or
withdrawal - Interest rate and loan fees

checks student loans or both work-study

Step 2 FAO sends Stafford Loan estimate to
student via award letter. Student can either
decline and/or reduce Stafford Loan estimate.
Step 6 PHEAA sends loan proceeds to California
University electronically.

Step 5 PHEAA mails Approval Notice to Student.
Approval Notice confirms the loan amount approved
and processed.
Processing Cycle
Step 3 FAO transmits Stafford Loan data to
PHEAA. PHEAA sends pre-certified MPN to new
student loan borrower.
Step4 Student must complete borrower section of
MPN and return it to PHEAA or complete on-line at
WWW.AESSUCCESS.ORG Click on Apply for a AES
Stafford Loan.

borrowers, complete references and sign the
borrower section of application
Step 6 PHEAA sends loan proceeds to California
University electronically

Step 5 California University will determine
PLUS Loan eligibility and transmit the loan
amount to PHEAA electronically

Step 2 Student receives work-study eligibility
award (federal or institutional) on award notice.
Student can accept or decline award.
Step 6 Financial Aid Office will send completed
forms to Payroll for entering student in Payroll
system.
Processing Cycle
Step 5 If hired, student brings signed
work-study authorization forms to Financial Aid
Office for processing.
Step3 Student reviews electronic job-posting
board maintained at the FAO homepage. Job
postings are found at www.cup.edu/financial_aid
and then click on student employment
Step 4 Student provides a copy of financial
award notice to the interested work-study
department . If position is available,
department interviews student.

"Login to Student Services located in the menu

Services. - Step 2 Enter your Student ID. Your Student ID is
your SSN - Step 3 Enter your PIN. For first-time users of
this site your PIN was sent to you from our
Office of Admissions. - Step 4 You will be taken to the Student Services
Main Menu. - Step 5 Select Student Records from the list of
student service options listed at the top of the
page and click on account summary and pay by

34Disbursement of Financial Aid
- Borrowers must complete a Loan Counseling
Entrance Interview - Any aid source not finalized by the due date
will have to be covered by payment or payment
plan - Aid is estimated until it is posted to the
students account - Aid is posted the first week of the semester
- Check the status of refunds on the student self-
service website (http//sisweb.cup.edu) - Refunds are mailed to the students billing
address
35Parent Plus Loan Borrowers
- PLUS Release Form must be completed in order to
apply funds to students account - Recommend that you sign PLUS Release Form today
(recommend that both parents sign a release form
if you are unsure of who will be applying) - Disbursement of PLUS Loan proceeds will be
delayed if no PLUS Release Form is on file
