• The Digestive System

Introduction

• Have you ever wonder how our body works? When we
  eat or drink something where does it go? How does
  the body digest it and get energy from it?
• Just imagine for one moment that we are some
  food product such as bread that we just ate,
  Imagine how we will go through many different
  parts of digestive system before we come out as
  waste.

Task

• Your task for this project is to learn all about
  the digestive system. The class will be divided
  into groups. Each group will have one part of
  digestive system. Each group will be making
  cardboard cut outs of their system part. You
  will gather information on internet or in books.
  You should be gathering enough information to
  discuss what your part of the system does in
  terms of energy consumption and overall function.

Process

• We will be dividing the class into groups of
  three. Each group will have a part of digestive
  system to research on.
• Team 1 will have mouth, esophagus to research on.
• Team 2 will have stomach and pancreas to research
  on.
• Team 3 will have small intestine and gall bladder
  to research on.
• Team 4 will have large intestine to research on.
• Each team will conduct research on their
  particular topic. Everybody will record their
  information and they will have to make a
  cardboard cutout of their part for their
  presentation in the class. After presenting in
  the class each group will stick their cutout
  cardboard piece to the human body frame( provided
  by teacher) at the right place. Presentation will
  follow with questions from their peers.

  take you to the tour of food from mouth through
  stomach to the large intestine and in the end
  waste product.)
• You do not need to visit all of these sites, but
  I would recommend visiting at least 2 or 3
  focusing on your part of the digestive system. My
  recommendation for research website will be 2,
  3, and 5.
